About CIViS

Located in Saint-Lambert at La Traversée’s facilities, this new centre helps to streamline the psycho-socio-legal process for victims of sexual abuse (assault, incest, exploitation), regardless of their age or gender. They can receive the help they need under one roof in a welcoming and safe environment, at no cost and in full confidence.

Unique

CIViS is a unique project in Quebec, coordinated by La Traversée and run by a multidisciplinary team with cutting-edge expertise in sexual abuse. The ministère de la Justice du Québec also supports it.

A Documentary to Discover

The film tells the story of Québec’s first integrated and non-discriminatory service centre for sexual violence, coordinated and hosted by La Traversée.

It shows how a collective, coordinated response can truly transform the journey of those affected by sexual violence.

Our partners

The Montérégie Centre d’aide aux victimes d’actes criminels (CAVAC)

This organization covers the broad Montérégie region, with 15 contact points across courthouses, police departments, and at its main office in Longueuil. Its team offers specialized psycho-socio-legal services.

Service de police de l’agglomération de Longueuil (SPAL)

The Sex Crime unit, consisting of two detective lieutenants and 18 detective sergeants, is tasked with addressing all sexual abuse reported in the Longueuil area.

The Integrated Intervention and Support Team for People at Risk or Victims of Sexual Exploitation is made up of a detective lieutenant and four detective sergeants who handle cases involving victims of sexual exploitation.

Other La Traversée partners offering services in the Montérégie region are also called upon to meet the unique needs of the victims we support.
